Resumen

This paper develops a survey of some slang (lunfardo) words borrowed from Italian, extracted from tangos, milongas and other written texts which usually reflect the use of this underworld slang. Its ethymology and meaning are discussed, in the light of the opinions that some lexicographers who have worked in this issue have shown. In some cases a more accurate origin is propposed, derived either from some of the copious italic dialects, or from some kind of 'specialized languages'.
